The first workshop of oncologists and patients under the “One voice, one direction” project took place on Dec 21,2022. During this meeting experts discussed how patient organizations can support the process of creating clinical guidelines.

The “One voice, one direction” project is the next stage of cooperation between the Narodowy Instytut Onkologii im. Marii Skłodowskiej-Curie – Państwowy Instytut Badawczy, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCC®) and the Alliance for Innovation – Polish American Foundation. Its aim is to adapt NCCN recommendations in the diagnosis and treatment of oncology in Poland.

Prof. Ewa Lech-Marańda, Prof. Piotr Rutkowski and Prof. Maciej Krzakowski, experts participating in the project “One voice, one direction”, agree that the aim of Polish oncological care is to put the patient at the center, as well as to support the partnership between the patient and the doctor. Only by supporting and promoting this partnership is it possible to develop a path of conduct that will comprehensively address the problems that doctors face on a daily basis, but also respond to the challenges faced by an individual oncological patient.
