In listening to business and political leaders responsible for growing economic relations between the two countries, AFI identified missed opportunities.

Members of the AFI Team had been involved in programs at the federal level to promote a business climate for Polish-US collaborations.

Successes and failures over several years in addition to discussions with political and business leaders developed the core concepts for a new approach to Polish-US Business relationships.

Through building and a celerate partnerships in life science innovation development and projects including medical simulation, clinical trials and biotech area.

AFI is focused on n ew technologies in life science cooperation such as: AI, big data, block chain, biotechnology, virtual and augmented reality and it’s goal is to establish share projects for scientific exchange in life science and space.

Chopin. The Space Concert. A Benefit Event of Film & Music to Celebrate Science and the Arts and support efforts in Ukraine.

Center of Excellence for Polytrauma – project created by Alliance for Innovation – Polish American Foundation, Baylor College of Medicine, Państwowy Instytut Medyczny MSWiA and many other great partners: Center of Excellence for Polytrauma is a project that started a few months ago. We are delighted that it is already showing its first results – and making a difference for the better.

SIGNING OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BY THE POLISH MINISTRY OF HEALTH WITH NATIONAL COMPREHENSIVE CANCER NETWORK (NCCN). THE MOU ASSUMES COOPERATION ON THE ADAPTATION OF THE BEST GUIDELINES IN THE TREATMENT OF CANCER.

ONLINE EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOP FOR PATIENT ADVOCACY GROUPS “ONE VOICE, ONE DIRECTION – INITIAL CALL”: PROGRAM EXAMINES CANCER TREATMENT, PREVENTION, AND RESEARCH IN POLAND, THE NCCN CANCER GUIDELINES ADAPTED FOR POLAND AND THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF PATIENT ADVOCACY.

NCCN Global Council Meeting, ESMO: Bridging Polish and American expertise to implement cancer treatment guidelines that has improved the quality of care of cancer patients in Poland. Introducing Polish Adaptation of NCCN Guidelines & potential implications for Eastern Europe.

Organized cooperation between key oncology leaders to develop a framework for Educational campaign demonstrating the value of NCCN guidelines for patients education workshops, HCPs and governmental stakeholders.

Meeting with National Consultant for Hematology on extending adaptation into hematology: Alliance for Innovation initiated the beginning of cooperation between NCCN and the Institute of Hematology.

A Year of Growth and Accomplishment for AFI
…with projects continuing into 2022

The Memorandum of Understanding between Maria Sklodowska –Curie National Research Institute of Oncology (MSCNRIO) and U.S. National Cancer Institute: The Polish-American Alliance for Innovation Foundation (AFI) participated in the signing of the agreement between the two institutions. AFI is supporting both institutions in organizational and administrative matters and will ensure a smooth cooperation.

Increased cooperation with the Medical Society of Virginia (MSV): Developed plan and MOU providing a significant source of opportunities for Poland and Virginia cooperation in science, business, and cultural areas. Joint Polish-Virginia projects identified for 2022.

Introduced Cancer Guidelines in Poland: Organized cooperation between US National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) and Polish oncologists to develop new Polish guidelines for cancer treatment. Continues in 2022.

Innovative Approaches To Implement National Cancer Strategies on Warsaw Summit of European Cancer Strategies AFI participated on panels at the the conference dedicated to variety of topics related to European’s Approach Towards Cancer, European Cancer Networks and Implementation of the Cancer Strategies in Central and Eastern Europe.

Contributed to the celebrationof historic advances by Marie Sklodowska-Curie: Assisted Polish participation organized by the French and Polish Embassies in Washington, DC. Plans made for continued celebration in 2022.

Established Polish School on Epidemiology and Cancer Prevention: Assisted startup by Polish National Research Institute for initial course with support of the US National Cancer Institute (NCI). Next course planned for 2022.

Proven standards for cancer care to be introduced in Poland through collaboration with foremost American cancer guidelines organization ‘NCCN’ Maria Sklodowska-Curie National Research Institute (MSCNRIO), National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) and Alliance for Innovation (AFI) signed a cooperation agreement enabling experts from NCCN in the United States to share their proven expertise and international experience to improve the clinical guidelines in Poland.

Organized a Senior Level Roundtable on Oncology Research: Led a Washington, DC conference for Polish and American oncology organizations resulting in commitments to cooperation on new joint cancer research in identified priorities of the United States and Poland. Two research projects identified for 2022.

Advanced Data Management in support of Biomedical Priorities: Led a Polish-American presentation on telehealth to an MIT data management symposium viewed by representatives of 61 nations.
