The Polish edition of NCCN guidelines for Cervical Cancer is a pilot project that works as part of a cooperation organized by the Maria Skłodowskiej-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology, the Alliance for Innovation Foundation (AFI) and the NCCN.
A group of Polish oncologists was chaired by Prof. Radosław Mądry – Head of the Oncological Gynecology Department at the Hospital of the Transfiguration of Jesus in Poznań.
The NCCN Guidelines are the recognized standard for clinical guidelines and policies in cancer treatment, and the most accurate and most frequently updated clinical practice guidelines available for any medical field. They are widely used and widely appreciated by cancer specialists around the world.
It is planned to extend the Polish edition of NCCN guidelines; in such a way that they cover the majority of cancer cases in Poland. Other NCCN guidelines, which are already in the process of adapting to Polish conditions, are: central nervous system neoplasms and head and neck neoplasms. This project is implemented under the auspices of the National Oncological Strategy.
